American-Style Beef Tacos
ground beef tacos in crunchy shells with taco sauce, cheddar, and sour cream
Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef (80/20)
- 100 g onion
- 32 g tomato paste
- 28 g taco seasoning
- 75 g water
- 155 g taco shells
- 120 g taco sauce
- 200 g tomato
- 120 g sour cream
- 100 g iceberg lettuce
- 120 g cheddar cheese
Method
- 1. Finely dice the onion. Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up the beef, until the beef is cooked through and the onion is soft.
- 2. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 min. Add the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5–7 min, stirring, until the filling is thick enough to spoon into shells. Add a splash more water if it dries out.
- 3. Warm the taco shells according to the package directions. Dice the tomato, shred the iceberg lettuce, and shred the cheddar.
- 4. Fill the shells with the beef. Add taco sauce, diced tomato, sour cream, iceberg lettuce, and cheddar. Serve immediately.
